When I first thought about running a marathon, the idea seemed a little nuts. Why would I choose to run over 26 miles? But now as I train for the Chicago Marathon, it’s no longer just to prove to myself that I can do it —it’s a commitment to honor, support, and give back. I am choosing to run the Chicago Marathon with Team Gilda in honor of loved ones who have battled cancer, carrying their spirit every step of the way. I run for the silent heroes, caregivers who tirelessly support without fanfare. And I run to spread the word that no one should face cancer alone – that there's a network of knowledge, strength, and community ready to uplift them.
