A Message From Annie Psenka
Marathon Training Update:
Lots of sweat, sore muscles, band-aids, and questioning every life choice—like signing up for 26.2 miles. I’ve noticed that my long runs start to feel like a roller coaster. Mile 1: “I feel like I can run forever!” After Mile 16: “I am wondering who I should call to come pick me up.” Somewhere between my optimism and meltdowns, I'm reminded that this is nothing compared to the challenges faced by anyone affected by cancer. Watching my mom—my hero—kick breast cancer's butt, I saw firsthand how much of a difference it made to have amazing care and support from her healthcare team, friends, and family.
I'm running for Gilda's Club because no one should fight cancer alone. Every step, every sore muscle, every heat rash, and every toenail (just a few so far)—is for people who need that same kind of community and hope. Your support keeps me moving—and helps others facing the hardest race of all. ❤️
Gilda Radner was more than just a brilliant comedian and woman; she was an inspiration, embodying joy, resilience, and authenticity.
When Gilda faced her battle with cancer, she brought the same authenticity to her journey, sharing her experience with honesty and grace. Her openness about her struggles and the importance of emotional support sparked a movement that led to the creation of Gilda’s Club.
Gilda’s message was one of love, hope, and community. Her legacy lives on in the lives touched by Gilda’s Club, where anyone affected by cancer can find strength, understanding, and connection during their most vulnerable times.
Every person deserves a safe space to be supported, heard, and cared for.
Running for Gilda's Club gives me a purpose beyond just crossing the finish line. It is a way to honor those impacted by cancer and to support a cause that moves me deeply.
If anyone feels moved by Gilda’s message, I would be so grateful for your support. Every donation, big or small, helps provide free programs and a safe, caring community for individuals and families facing cancer.
Thank you for considering being part of this journey with me. Your generosity means so much!
Yours Truly,
Annie
