A Message From Jake Marietta

Dear Friends and Family, This October, I will be running my first-ever marathon alongside Team Gilda. And I need your help. I am running for a cause that is deeply personal to me: Gilda’s Club. Gilda's Club provides an essential lifeline to those affected by cancer including the individuals battling the disease, as well as their families and friends. This organization offers a welcoming space where people can find emotional and social support, free of charge. Through their various programs including support groups, workshops, and social events, Gilda's Club helps to ease the burdens cancer places on families and gives them the tools to face one of life’s greatest challenges. My connection to this cause runs deep. In August of 2019, I lost my father after a two-year battle with cancer. At just 17 years old, I witnessed firsthand the emotional and physical toll cancer takes not just on the person with the disease, but on their loved ones as well. The weight of those years has stayed with me, and it fuels my desire to help others who are facing similar struggles. Running a marathon is an immense challenge, but it's nothing compared to the challenges cancer brings. As I train and prepare for this race, my goal is to honor those who fight cancer and to show that no matter how daunting the obstacles we face in life, they are always within our power to overcome. I’m setting a fundraising goal of $2,500 to support Gilda’s Club, and I would be deeply grateful for your support. Every dollar you contribute will go directly toward helping families who need it most providing them with the emotional support and resources they deserve during one of life’s hardest battles. Together, we can make a difference. Whether you’re able to donate or share this message with others, your support means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and for helping to make this marathon not just a personal milestone, but a step toward a future where cancer doesn’t have to be faced alone. With gratitude, Jake Marietta
