A Message From Thorsten Sahlin

Greetings friends! On October 12th, I'll be running the Chicago Marathon. For most of my life, I have run to try and stay fit, blow off steam, or maybe challenge a personal best. This year, I'm driven by something that runs much deeper than miles and PR's. My journey is inspired by my mother's battle with stage 4 cancer. Being with my mother during her diagnosis has made it evident to me that battling cancer is about so much more than medical treatments. People need hope, they need connection, and they need to know they still matter so much. That's why I'm running for Gilda's Club – an organization that provides critical emotional support and community for those touched by cancer. Marathon day is Chicago's at its best– a day when our city comes together with energy, determination, and heart. As a runner, I love every mile of that experience. This year, the steps I take are dedicated to ensuring that no one facing cancer has to feel alone. My goal is to raise funds that will help create spaces where people can share their stories, find support, and remember that they matter unconditionally. Every donation, no matter the size, helps build a community of compassion and resilience. I invite you to be part of this journey. Your support can make a real difference in the lives of those fighting cancer. Thanks, and take care! Thorsten Sahlin
