A Message From Stacey Lucas
In 2026, I will celebrate five years of being cancer-free — a milestone that still feels both surreal and incredibly meaningful. Running the Chicago Marathon (my very first!) is my way of honoring that journey, my recovery, and every person who lifted me up along the way. I chose to run for Gilda’s Club Chicago because their mission represents exactly what got me through treatment: community, connection, access to care and the healing power of laughter.
My husband and I met at Dad's Garage - and improv theatre in Atlanta, GA - so comedy has always been woven into our lives. During cancer treatment, finding reasons to laugh wasn’t just helpful — it was essential. Gilda Radner’s story reflects that same truth: that humor, hope, and humanity can coexist even in the hardest moments.
By supporting my $2,500 fundraising goal, you’re helping Gilda’s Club Chicago provide free emotional and social support to individuals and families facing cancer right now. Your donation ensures that no one has to walk — or run — their journey alone. I am beyond grateful to take on this marathon not only as a celebration of being five years cancer-free, but as an opportunity to uplift others who are still in the fight.
Thank you for cheering me on, supporting this amazing organization, and helping me turn each mile into something meaningful. BOOM! Let's do this! ❤️🏃♀️🎗️
