A Message From Mark, Madeline, Eliot & Leah Pitman
The past year & a half for our family has been full of heartbreak & grief after losing our sister, daughter, & friend to NET cancer. Anna was the glue to our family with her genuine care for each of us, gentle peace-making, clever wit, & resilient grit. While participating in the Chicago Marathon with Gilda’s Club has been a staple for Mark & Madeline over the past three years, this year is the first time all four of us, including Eliot and Leah, chose to run it together. (Mom is playing her part as our steadfast cheerleader who will be braving the redline on raceday). Our love runs deep for our Anna, and fundraising for Gilda’s Club is a way we can continue to support her legacy as well as support other families affected by cancer. Throughout Anna’s cancer diagnosis, she found a caring community at Gilda’s Club through their support groups, art therapy, yoga sessions, & many other programs. These accessible & free resources facilitate an impactful community that make living with cancer feel less lonely, provide an uplifting environment & bring empowering connections of support. Our mission as we train for the Chicago Marathon is to raise money in support of Gilda’s Club’s efforts, & we would be so grateful if you would be able & willing to help us in reaching that goal.
