A Message From Katrina Keirns
As an 8-time marathon runner, running has become much more than just a personal goal for me. It has taught me resilience, discipline, gratitude, and the importance of community. I’m passionate about using my love for running to support causes that make a meaningful impact in people’s lives.
This fall, I’m honored to run the Chicago Marathon for Team Gilda while aiming to complete 1,000 miles throughout this training cycle in support of Gilda’s Club and the incredible individuals and families impacted by cancer. As I work toward my fundraising goal of $2,500, I’d be so grateful for your support- whether that’s sponsoring a few miles of training, making a donation, or simply following along throughout this journey!
I’m especially inspired by the support, compassion, and sense of hope that Gilda’s Club provides to individuals and families impacted by cancer. Cancer touches so many lives, and I deeply admire Team Gilda’s mission of creating a community where no one has to face cancer alone.
Working in the mental health tech space over the past six years has also reinforced for me the importance of having a strong support system and community during life’s most difficult moments. No one should have to face life’s struggles alone, and I truly admire the safe, welcoming environment that Gilda’s Club creates for so many individuals and families.
Being able to combine something I love with the opportunity to support people navigating such difficult journeys is incredibly meaningful to me. I’m so excited and proud to represent Team Gilda while raising awareness and support for such an important cause.
Thank you so much for your support and for helping make a meaningful difference in the lives of others!
