A Message From Alex Psihogios
Hi! A lot has happened since I ran my first Chicago Marathon in 2013, when I was a 20 something grad student (omg)! I am training to run this awesome race again to benefit a charity that means so much to me and to the young people with cancer that I work with: Gilda’s Club Chicago. Gilda’s Club is a community organization deeply invested in helping people with cancer by offering support groups, education, wellness activities, and therapy/art programs. They have a longstanding commitment to serving adolescents and young adults with cancer—and many tell me that their groups have helped them feel less alone. It means a lot to me to use exercise to benefit people with cancer through fundraising. But I really need your help! Thanks so much for considering making a donation, big or small. On a funny note, my 5-year-old asked me if I wanted to "be a marathon winner". I told her I want to be a marathon finisher (much to her displeasure). She rolled her eyes and said good luck being a finisher (haha!)
